I am Ms. Melanie and I have been working here at Amo Ososwan School for several years now. I began as an Educational Assistant then a preschool teacher and now I am currently teaching the little Kindergarten students. I have always dreamed of becoming a teacher; I remember when I was a young girl I would play teacher down in my parent’s basement. I was twenty-three years old when I went back to school to become an Early childhood educator and still today I continue my studies so that I can have more qualifications for my field of work. I am a person who has a good sense of humour and I am a very motivated person.
I love teaching those little ones. They are so funny. I must admit that it is a lot of work but it is definitely worth it. All the evening I stayed home to plan and organize activities just to see the smile on my students’ faces. This definitely brightens my day. In Kindergarten, we have learned about numbers, letters and the sounds they make and so much more. We do a lot of learning in class but we do a lot of fun activities as well. On Fridays it is a treat day for my students because they have worked so hard to deserve this.
Moving into the new school is something that everyone was looking forward to. The students are very happy to be back to school in the community. I enjoy working for the Amo Team and I have a good relationship with every one.
